I am still trying to fully comprehend the value proposition of Ethereum and I think part of the reason for that is I have not come across this type of asset before.
I am not alone in this and I suspect that anyone who has studied it is in the same boat. As I understand it, Ethereum is a base level protocol that is going to be one of (and possible the main) the foundations of upon which many thousands of digital assets will be built over the coming years.
When the Europeans discovered and began trading in spices in the 17th and 18th century the protocol was the oceans, the platform was the ships and army and the applications where the spices themselves. Perhaps this analogy is too much of a stretch but it’s food for thought, are these base level digital protocols as important to the digital economy as oceans are the flow of physical goods? I think the answer is yes.
